I grew up in the country and the
standard "treatment" for skunk
spray on a dog was to douse him
in tomato juice. It is supposed
to absorb most of the odor. Then
wash him as usual to get the tomato
juice out. I don't know if it helps with other stinky problems.

Hi, Hilary -

After our TWO DOGS were sprayed by a skunk, we went through a pretty bad patch. One, sprayed in the mouth, burped skunk oil for weeks! We found that, for their coats, a product called "Nature's Miracle" was the biggest help. But you have to keep using it, so buy a big bottle. We also learned that self-wash dog businesses do NOT want you in their tubs until the smell has pretty well disappeared. We just about drove everyone out of the one we always patronize. We had little help from chlorophyll tablets or liquid for the really bad breath they both had.
Probably what Murphy rolled in was not as bad or long lasting, so I think the product might help you more than it did us. Good luck when and if she does it again!

Sally
