well we got him and he never barked he howled and the way he does it he reminds me of a bear. on top of that hes brown and fuzzy just like a bear.

I named my little girl Xenia because, as a saltwater fish tank fanatic, I used to keep a coral called xenia. It's kind of tan-ish pink-ish in color. My chihuahua's coat color reminded me of that coral, so Xenia it was! Also, I learned that the name "Xenia" means hospitality (I'm a waiter!) and is often used in Russia, Greece, Spain, and various other European countries.

We don't really know, but here's her story....
The name of OUR DOG, Jersey, FOR US, stands for being TOUGH and DETERMINED! Unfortunately, she was already named when we got her, & had kept the name through several owners. Jersey was only 2 months old when she was KICKED IN THE JAW UNTIL IT WAS BROKEN, by her first owner, naturally a "human." She is what we call a "Whip~Pit," which is a cross between the Whippet and Pit Bull breeds. The owner dumped her off at the Animal Services Building of Stanislaus County, CA, where an employee fell in love with her sweet nature & her willingness and determination to not only HEAL, but FORGIVE the mean person who mistreated her, and MOVE ON WITH LOVE & GRATITUDE! That person kept her 3 years, until they had a baby, & not enough time to devote to a dog. They gave her to some TERRIBLE PEOPLE, and while riding a bike past their house, she got out and followed my boyfriend home. He felt terrible, and tried to return her. Fortunately for her, AND US, they just tossed a small amount of the terrible food they'd been feeding her, & said: "You can HAVE HER, we were going to take her to the pound anyway! We can't take care of her!" So, we took her home, to the vet, and to PETCO, to get her a NEW COLLAR (necklace, to us) and TAGS, with her given name of "Jersey." She is THE BEST, SWEETEST, MOST SENSITIVE, dog I've ever had! We call her our "Doggie Daughter." She is so insecure, due to her past, that ONCE, when we took her necklace off to wash it, she seemed to just wither away. We finally realized that every time someone handed her off to another owner, they took her collar, & she thought it was happening again. So sad! On New Years Eve, 2012, we found out she is TERRIFIED OF FIREWORKS! We live in an area where, it seems, ALL THE CRAZIES SHOOT ILLEGAL FIREWORKS INTO THE SKY! On The Fourth of July, 2013, we realized JUST HOW TERRIFIED she is, when she JUMPED INTO OUR ROOM, THROUGH AN OPEN WINDOW/CLOSED SCREEN! Last night, two of her fears CONVERGED: water/sprinklers & fireworks. She was out for her evening "restroom break," the sprinklers went on and fully WET HER, & as she was trying to break into the screen in our bedroom, someone started setting off VERY LOUD, FLYING FIREWORKS! She was SO FREAKED, she needed her human mama to wrap a towel & herself AROUND HER BODY FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES, before she would stop SHAKING! She may be full of fear at times (she also hates loud arguements!), but she FIGHTS ON! But she is resilient, and even when the German Shepard across the street ATTACKED HER, she didn't fight back at all. She screamed like a little child being tortured, and her daddy saved her! We LOVE her, & she shows us so much affection daily that it is COMPLETELY UNBELIEVABLE THAT ANYONE WOULD "Get Rid" of her, let alone ABUSE HER! We will be Jersey's human parents as long as she lives! We PROMISED HER THAT!
